Jakhoo Temple: Another high point of Shimla, the temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman is on Jakhoo Hill set amidst the lush green background of the Shivalik hill ranges. The temple has the world's biggest Hanuman statue and it can be seen from most parts of Shimla. The height of the statue is over 8000 feet which makes it taller than Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio De Janeiro by about 100 meters. Legend says it that Hanuman took some rest at the very place when he was looking for Sanjivani Boot to revive Lakshman who fell unconscious after being hit by an arrow of Ravan’s son Indrajeet.
